Car Guy Credentials:

Lawrence Romanosky has had a voracious appetite for anything Automotive since ‘playing’ in the family Jaguar as a small child.  He has a collection of over 2500 car magazines including every issue of Road & Track dating back to 1947.  His reference library is extensive on post war European Cars.

Lawrence spent 7 years restoring arguably the world’s best Series 1 Land Rover complete with Brockhouse Trailer and Coventry Climax Firepump (sold by RM Auctions in Monterey) and written up in Sports Car Market Magazine.  Read the article here.  He competed in Solo 1 road course time trials in an Acura Type R Integra and still has the record for his class.  Over the years Lawrence saw Senna win the Monaco Grand Prix, attended the Montreal Grand Prix and Jim Russell Race Driving School in Mont Tremblant five times, was in Brescia for a Mille Miglia Retrospective and Goodwood for the Revival (above) and has made the Pebble Beach Concours and the Monterey Classic week an almost annual event since 2001.

Lawrence has compiled over 2,000 images and over 100 videos that are organized in a new Media Gallery (click here).

Lawrence decided to ‘follow his passion’ and sold a Cocktail Lounge that he owned  in 2000 (the Auburn Saloon in Calgary), to work in the Automobile business.  in 2001 he started selling cars at Hyatt Mercedes-Benz in Calgary and moved through various positions including Internet Manager.  In 2008 he was offered the Sales Manager position at the newly formed Ferrari Maserati of Alberta and spent a (long) year there.  In 2009 he joined the Distinctive Collection (Calgary Aston Martin/Bentley) where he was the top sales person for 2010 and 2011.  Lawrence started “Coffee and Cars” inviting his classic car owning friends to show off  their machinery every Saturday morning, and enjoy the hospitality of DC.

Lawrence moved to Porsche in 2012, and is currently the Sales Manager of Porsche Centre Calgary.  He currently owns a very nice 1979 Porsche 911 SC, 1989 Mercedes 420sel (baby limo), a 1952 Bentley R Type Saloon as well as a 1978 Silver Streak Supreme Rocket Aluminum Travel Trailer.

Lawrence Romanosky Bio:

Near Field, Yoho National Park, British Columbia, in the 1976 Aston Martin V8 Saloon.  Great Car, now in Maryland, USA.

Two of 30 produced of the 80’s Alpina Supercar, the B7S Turbo Coupe.  These are the only 2 in North America and both made their debut at the ‘Legends of the Autobahn’ during the 2011 Monterey Classic Car Week.  Lawrence’s car in the foreground was #14/30 and came away with an award, pleasing the cars new owner in San Diego.

Summer drive near Canmore, AB in the 1985 Ruf BTR.  Wicked car.  The only car I’ve ever driven where I was too scared to look down at the gauges.  This car is now in Holland.

1958 Aston Martin DB 2/4 MkIII and 1969 Iso Grifo 7.0L being given body restorations in our shop near Calgary, Canada.  Both of these cars are rare variants: they only made 48 of the final evolution of the Aston DB 2/4’s with DBD engine, 3 carb’s, twin exhausts, and disk brakes.  Their were only 400 Iso Grifo’s produced and only 90 with the 7 Litre engine.
